At midnight on June 30, 1944, a submarine belonging to the Imperial Japanese Navy fired two torpedoes at the ship belonging to the U.S. Navy USS Indianapolis sank in twelve minutes in the Philippine Sea. Of the 1196 people aboard, 300 were sunk with the ship and the remaining 900 fell into the sea without lifeboats, without food or water jacket.
At dawn on the first day the shark appeared. Only a few tiger sharks (Galeacerdo Cuvier), which true to their pattern & oacna kicking and screaming hoping to scare the sharks and sometimes away with it. Sometimes it is not going away.

The next day during the week ended. Nine hundred men fell into the water. As only three hundred sixteen were rescued.
The news of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis was issued on August 15, days after the atomic bombing of Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, although the date actual event was July 30. An unprecedented event occurred after the process, the then supreme commander of the navy, Admiral Chester Nimitz called for a reduction in the penalty for McVay due perhaps, to his service. No record in the self-condemnation, Nimitz restored to active service as commander of McVay New Orleans maritime district, yes to the rank of rear admiral, the destination in which retired
